Blossom Consulting and Engineering is continually humbled by the energy and awe brought by kids and students all around when presenting the Wards Floodplain model on behalf of VFMA. Over the past 10 (ten) years, BCE has had the wonderful opportunity to engage with hundreds of kids and students while discussing the importance of floodplain and providing a visually engaging interactive model for experimentation and analysis. The model was presented at Mathew Whaley and Virginia Living Museum (VLM) most recently (2025-2025) and highlighted on Instagram by VLM. BCE is a proud sponsor and technical supporter of STEM initiatives throughout the Commonwealth and has engaged in numerous community based volunteer activities including five (5) years of liaison to the Old Dominion (ODU) Student Chapter for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Hampton Roads Post and Volunteer Design Services to Support the Air Force at Joint Base Langley Eastis for the Virginia Peninsula Post of SAME.
