The purpose of the Gambles Mill – Little Westham Creek Restoration Floodplain Study is to evaluate pre- and post restoration conditions and map the associated floodplains and floodway to assess any adverse impacts to the floodplain and/or adjacent properties. The proposed restoration reach is in an unmapped floodplain located on Little Westham Creek, defined by the Westhampton Road crossing to the River Road crossing. In consideration that the restoration is located within an unmapped floodplain, the study and associated hydraulic modelling (completed in the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Hydrologic Engineering Center’s River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) were developed in general accordance with FEMA modeling and mapping guidelines.
