May 31, 2022
The Dream Big film, produced by MacGillivray Freeman was scheduled to premiere in coordination with engineer’s week, February 17-26, 2017, Nationwide. The film focuses on bringing the engineering profession to the forefront of our culture by highlighting exciting and thought-provoking case studies from around the world. It is not only a journey through engineering’s greatest wonders, but equally a tale of human grit, aspiration, compassion and the triumph of human ingenuity over life’s greatest challenges.
BCE has a vested interest in the idea that Leadership in Design, and furthermore Leadership in Engineering is critical for our work force and we stand ready to help the future generations focus on the challenges and opportunities ahead of us.
To bring “Dream Big” closer to Williamsburg, Virginia, Blossom Consulting and Engineering Inc. coordinated directly with DisoverE (formerly The National Engineer’s Week Foundation) and the film producer to arrange a private showing at Regal New Town Cinemas, February 23, 2017. BCE reached The Structures Group (TSG) to assist, who later led efforts to continue Dream Big showings for 5 years +. Together, TSG, BCE and a host of sponsors have reached thousands of students from 2017-2025, and plans to continue int the future! The film premiere in Williamsburg promotes Science, Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) activities in the local community and was the start of a series of educational sessions and workshops to be offered locally. In addition, BCE offers a five (5) module engineering leadership educational series that can be customized for a range of audiences, including students, young emerging professionals, and engineers in training. The Williamsburg film premiere marked the kickoff of BCE participation in local STEM events and activities, which includes BCE’s annual attendance at Mathew Whaley’s STEM fair!
