BCE provides flood mitigation studies and associated tasks, including full service hydrologic and hydraulic modelling meeting Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) standards and submittal requirements. Our key staff bring engineering expertise to ensure local, State and federal safety and regulatory requirements for activity in the floodplain are addressed. As a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) for 10-years, Mr. Blossom has performed numerous floodplain studies for both public and private clientele, including assisting Municipal entities garner approval from the FEMA for stream and wetland restoration activities in mapped floodplains.

BCE has specialized training in the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Hydrologic Engineering Centers River Analysis System (HEC RAS) and a variety of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling platforms including but not limited to HEC HMS, Pond Pack, and Rivermorph for River and Stream Restoration projects. Our models are field calibrated and coordinated with Local, State and Federal Standards.

BCE approaches all projects with a conscious eye towards safety and public well-being, with specific attention towards hydraulic capacity and resiliency. BCE Team specializes in wetland and stream restoration design, and can provide turn key management and engineering through all phases from assessment through construction, including flood studies and approvals if needed. BCE offers full service FEMA coordination, including preparation of required hydrologic and hydraulic models and documentation associated with MT-1 and Mt-2 forms. Our senior engineering staff has coordinated directly with FEMA technical review staff throughout the processing of multiple Letters of Map Change, including but not limited to development related projects and ecosystem restoration projects. BCE’s design and water resources engineering foundation is built on solid technical understanding of hydrology and hydraulics.
